Shri B S Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School celebrated Aashirwad Diwas, on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, within the school premises. The venue was adorned with festoons creating a vibrant ambience. The Secretary, Mr. Vijay Kothari, the Correspondent, Mr. Kishan Srisrimal Jain, the Chairman, Mr. Prakash.C.Sacheti, the Managing Trustee, Mr. L. Dharmichand Singhvi, the Vice President, Mr. Harish Mehta and the Principal, Mrs. Swarnalatha Gopalakrishnan, graced the event, enhancing its grandeur. The distinguished Chief Guest for the special occasion was Shri. Ankit Jain, IPS, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, T. Nagar. The festivities commenced with an invocation to God, followed by the lighting of the kuthuvilakku. The Correspondent, in an eloquent welcome address, introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. The Chief Guest was felicitated with a memento and a shawl as a token of appreciation for his presence. Chief Guest delivered an inspirational speech on instilling values and the wisdom imparted by grandparents. More than 250 grandparents graced the occasion, adding a special touch to the event. The LKG and UKG students participated, bringing a warm and endearing element to the proceedings. The highlight of the celebration was the speeches delivered by KG students in English, Hindi, and Tamil, beautifully illustrating the vital role of grandparents in their lives. The ceremony was conducted in two batches, first for UKG grandparents and then for LKG grandparents. The first batch of Aashirwad Diwas for Ukg grandparents started at 9.00 am. Grandparents were received with a warm welcome at the entrance. The young speakers Adithi Parthiban, Sanjana Shree, Yadhavi, Darshini, Vridhi and Karunya compered the show extraordinarily. The experiences shared by Mrs. Sumathi, Mrs. Leela, Mr. Pitchai Natesan and Mr. Jothiramalingam was a value addition to the show.
The second batch of Aashirwad Diwas started at 11.30am with the enthusiastic participation of the lkg grandparents. The Principal welcomed the gathering. The tiny tots Samrudhi, Pihu, Thanvee, Navya and Megha of Lkg and Thaniksha of UKG compered the show with confidence. Mr. G. Sai Prasath, Mr. Mathirajan, Mr. Krishnamurthy, Mrs. Ponnamal, Mrs. Vijayalakshmi and Mr. Vijayakumar shared their beautiful experiences filled with emotions.
A team of purohits conducted the Pooja and the tiny tots actively participated in the Paadha Poojai to show their gratitude and reverence for their grandparents. In addition, the gracious sharing of nostalgic memories and experiences by ten grandparents added a meaningful dimension to the occasion. Following the speeches, tea and snacks were served, and a selfie booth was arranged for attendees to capture and cherish the treasured moments. Badges and greeting cards were given to all grandparents in recognition of their exceptional roles. The program concluded with a sincere vote of thanks.
