Tamil Sangamam 2024 – 2025

To commemorate the rich heritage and beauty of the Tamil language, Shri B.S Mootha Girls Sr Sec School proudly hosted a dedicated “Tamil Day” celebration on 19th February 2025, where students actively participated in various cultural programs showcasing the essence of Tamil tradition and literature.

The event commenced with a grand welcome for the Chief Guest, Correspondent, Secretary, and Principal. Our students presented vibrant folk dances, including Karakattam, Silambattam, Oyilattam, and Thappattam, accompanied by our school band and a parade by the Scouts and Guides.

Following a soulful prayer song, the lighting of the lamp marked the formal beginning of the program. The Chief Guest, Mr. Vimal Chand Dhariwal, an esteemed agriculturist and financier, delivered an inspiring speech on the significance of the Tamil language and its literary heritage.

Students showcased their talents through various performances, including Thirukkural recitations by KG Blooms, Villupattu, a debate, a street drama, and a prize distribution ceremony.

A dedicated exhibition booth displayed informative posters and artifacts related to Tamil history, culture, and prominent Tamil personalities, allowing students to deepen their understanding of the language’s rich heritage.

The Tamil Day celebration at our school was a resounding success, fostering a deep appreciation for the Tamil language and culture among students while instilling a sense of pride in their heritage.

The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the teachers, students, and staff for their dedicated efforts in making the event a grand success.
