PATHWAYS TO PROGRESS (CLASSES 11&12)

 

                 The RIDS activity on “Pathways to Progress” was held on November 16, 2024, at Shri B.S. Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School. The event, attended by the Secretary, Correspondent, Principal-in-charge, parents, teachers, and students, focused on the critical issue of poverty in countries like India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Brazil, and Japan. It provided students from Classes 11 and 12 with an in-depth exploration of poverty’s causes and global strategies for eradication.

Students participated in several dynamic activities. The debate was one of the main events, where students researched and presented global poverty eradication strategies, enhancing their argumentation and persuasive communication skills.

In the PowerPoint Presentation event titled “Insight Infographics”, teams presented their findings on poverty eradication efforts in various countries, supported by data and visuals shared on the school’s blog and website.

The Collage event named “Poverty Portraits” allowed students to creatively represent poverty issues through digital tools. Meanwhile, the Culinary Presentation “Global Gastronomy” involved students preparing affordable, nutritious dishes from different countries, emphasizing the importance of nutrition in poverty alleviation.

The Mime Performance “Echoes of Silence” allowed students to express the emotional impacts of poverty through silent acting. Finally, the Podcast Series “Voices of Change” featured interviews with experts and stories of individuals affected by poverty, discussing successful eradication efforts.

The event was highly praised for its educational value and creativity, helping students understand global poverty issues while developing essential skills such as research, communication, and teamwork.
