The celebration of International Yoga Day was a harmonious blend of spirituality, physical well being, and mindfulness. Held on June 21, 2024, in our school premises, the event commenced with a serene prayer, setting the stage for a day of rejuvenation and inner peace. The event began with a warm welcome address, followed by felicitation of the esteemed resource persons, Mr. S. Rajasekar, Ms. Sandhya Vivekanandan and Ms. Diptika Kulkarni who shared their profound insights on the significance of yoga in modern life. Students showcased their creativity and agility through “Rhythmic Yoga” dance, mesmerized the audience with their grace and synchronicity. Participants immersed themselves in Heartfulness Yoga-Meditation, emphasizing the connection between physical and emotional well-being. Yoga enthusiasts engaged in Pranayama (breathing exercises) and various Yogasanas (physical postures), under the expert guidance of instructors. The 60 minutes session concluded with relaxation techniques and meditation, allowing participants to unwind and achieve a state of deep relaxation and introspection. The students of all classes performed yoga and meditation throughout the day. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks. The International Yoga Day celebration at SBSM not only promoted physical fitness but also fostered a deeper understanding of yoga’s holistic benefits.
