GANIT UTSAV 2025 – REPORT
Ganit Utsav 2025 was celebrated with great enthusiasm at our school to honour the beauty of mathematics. The day began with an inspiring note from the hosts, who reminded everyone that mathematics is not just about numbers and formulas, but about understanding the world around us. The event was conducted in the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Dr M. Kamalam, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Mathematics, Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, Chennai. The function was also graced by the presence of the Correspondent, Shri Rajkumar Jain, and Principal, Smt. Deivanai.
The celebration began with the Lighting of the Lamp, followed by a Welcome Address that beautifully conveyed the theme of the day – celebrating mathematics as a subject that inspires curiosity, creativity, and confidence.
The Chief Guest, Dr M. Kamalam, delivered an inspiring address that highlighted the role of mathematics in developing critical skills. She also appreciated the students for their enthusiasm and creativity in presenting the various events of the day.
A variety of engaging programmes showcased the talents of students from Pre-KG to Class 12. The youngest participants charmed the audience with “Sizzling Shapers”, a colourful fancy-dress show where they portrayed shapes, symbols, and legendary mathematicians. The middle school students demonstrated the fun side of numbers through Vedic maths tricks and Ramanujan’s Birthday Magic Square, while the upper primary students blended art and movement in a graceful Yoga performance that connected geometry and body balance. The An Ode to Maths musical presentation by Classes 6 to 8 added rhythm to the magic of Maths, and the skit “From Maths Phobia to Maths Mania” by Classes 9 and 11 carried a powerful message about overcoming fear and developing confidence in learning mathematics.
A Prize Distribution Ceremony was held, where the winners of the quiz competition were honoured by the Chief Guest and dignitaries. The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the celebration.
In her remarks, the Chief Guest praised the flawless organisation of the entire event, commending the efforts of the teachers for involving students from Kindergarten to Class 12 in such meaningful and creative ways. She also appreciated that the programme reflected the collective efforts of the entire school community, making mathematics an enjoyable and inspiring experience for everyone.
Ganit Utsav 2025 was truly a memorable celebration – one that transformed numbers into stories, logic into art, and learning into joy.
