Attendance & Leave of Absence

  1. Parents are requested to follow the prescribed format given in the handbook while applying leave for their children.
  2. No student shall absent herself without prior permission of the class teacher, except in unforeseen circumstances.
  3. The student who has been absent on the previous day will not be admitted to the class without a leave note (in the prescribed format given in the handbook page number-82) signed by the parent.
  4. In case leave is availed due to sickness for more than three days, a medical certificate must be produced on the reporting day.
  5. Prior permission should be taken from the Principal for availing more than 5 days planned leave. Leave taken up to 3 days should be addressed to the coordinator.
  6. Students suffering from contagious diseases must stay away from school during the course of illness. Medical fitness certificate should be produced at the time of resuming classes.
  7. 90% attendance is compulsory for a student to complete the course of study. If a student is absent due to prolonged illness/hospitalization, leave letter should be attested by a Medical Practitioner. In such cases, if the student still has 80% of attendance, the student will be considered for promotion, provided the performance of the student in test/examinations throughout the year, adequately meets the pass percentage level.
  8. Students will not be permitted to go home during school hours. Parents are requested not to plan any social engagements or fix any medical appointments for the student during school working hours. To ensure better discipline, parents are requested not to send their children to school on the day they have such appointments.
  9. In case of emergency, student will be sent home only with the parent. Students will not be sent with drivers/ friends/ relatives without the written request of the parent.
  10. A student who does not abide by the leave rules and absents herself for a long period of time will be severely dealt with and TC will be issued.
  11. School is authorized to cancel the admission of any child if long leave is taken without intimation.
  12. In case of absenteeism of the student, without prior information and permission:-
  13. (i)  For 3 consecutive days, a fine of Rs.500/- will be levied.
  14. (ii)  For more than 7 days, re-admission fee will be levied.
  15. (iii)  During Tests and Examinations, a fine of Rs.100/- for each day will be levied.
  16. (iv)  During the first and last working day of term/holidays,a fine of Rs.500/- will be levied.
