SBSM’s 76th Republic Day Celebration

 

The 76th Republic Day was celebrated with grandeur and patriotic fervour at Shri B.S. Mootha Girls’ Senior Secondary School, Mambalam, on 26 January 2025. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, staff, and esteemed dignitaries, including Shri R. Sekar (retired IPS officer and Chief Guest), President Shri Harish Metha, Vice President Shri Madanlal Gundecha, Managing Trustee Shri Paras Singh Munoth, Secretary Shri Nirmal Nahar, Correspondent Shri Rajkumar Jain, Vice Principal acting as Principal, Ms Deivanai, teachers and students.

The event commenced with a brief yet strong introduction that set a patriotic tone for the day. The school choir led the audience in a heartfelt prayer, seeking blessings for the nation’s progress and unity.

The Secretary, Shri Nirmal Nahar, warmly welcomed the Chief Guest, Shri R. Sekar, along with the management members and dignitaries. The Chief Guest was then formally introduced, and later felicitated by the management members.

The national flag was hoisted by Shri R. Sekar, followed by the flag salute and flag song, stirring a sense of pride amongst everyone. The ceremonial march-past showcased discipline and coordination among the students, representing the school’s four houses.

The cultural segment began with an eloquent speech in English, followed by a musical performance of the SBSM Anthem by students from Classes 7, 8 and 9. Speeches in English, Hindi and Tamil reflected the diversity and unity of India.

Then, a skit was performed by students of Classes 7 and 8, emphasising the importance of joining the armed forces. This was followed by a vibrant and mesmerising dance performance by KG students.

In his address, the Chief Guest, Shri R. Sekar, inspired the students with anecdotes and motivational words, encouraging them to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams with determination. He emphasised the significance of understanding civic responsibilities and maintaining a balance between progress and wisdom.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by the Correspondent, Shri Rajkumar Jain, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the success of the event. Sweets were distributed to all students, and the event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving a sense of pride and unity amongst everyone present.

The celebration was a resounding success, reminding everyone of their duties towards the nation and instilling a sense of patriotism in the hearts of all attendees.
