48th Annual Sports Meet – 2024-25
“Trophies are not just awards, they’re testaments to hard work and dedication.” The school witnessed a phenomenal display of sports excellence as it enthusiastically celebrated its 48th Annual Sports Day, on 29th August 2024 at Ramakrishna Ground, T.Nagar.
The 48th Annual Sports Day was graced by the presence of our esteemed Chief Guest, Shri. T. Kailash Chand Chordia, and our revered Guest of Honour, Shri. P. Nazeer. Secretary Shri. Nirmal Nahar, Correspondent Shri. Rajkumar Jain, Chairman Shri. Harish Metha, Managing trustee Shri. Paras Singh Munoth, Vice president Shri. Madanlal Gundecha, other management members of the school, Principal Smt. Swarnalatha Gopalakrishnan, and Vice Principal Smt. Deivanai welcomed and felicitated the honourable guests.
The day’s proceedings began with a serene prayer. The Secretary Shri Nirmal Nahar welcomed the gathering. The highlight of the day was the march past which showcased the disciplined and synchronized efforts of students as they paraded in their respective house colours, displaying pride and unity. The opening ceremony featured a grand torch relay, as the Chief Guest lighting the ceremonial torch, which symbolized the start of the day’s events. Students participated in the Oath Taking Ceremony, pledging to compete with integrity and uphold the values of sportsmanship.
The honourable Chief Guest T. Kailash Chand Chordia delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of sportsmanship and the values learned through sports. The event included impressive individual displays of Archery and Taekwondo, where participants demonstrated their skill and precision. To exhibit the importance of team work and co-ordination, students participated in several drills. The tiny tots of KG set the tone with their delightful “Sunflower Drill”. Students of Std I and II followed with a synchronized drill, skilfully incorporating “Balls” as props. Std III and IV presented an “Umbrella drill”, while Std V and VI conveyed the crucial message of water conservation through their thought-provoking “Bottle Drill”. The students of Std VII and VIII showcased their patriotic spirit with a “Fan drill”, symbolizing national pride. The high school students then took centre stage, delivering an energetic and rhythmic “Aerobics” performance that celebrated movement and vitality. The mesmerizing display of Silambam and Yoga, leaving the audience spellbound with their bold and stunning feats.
The 48th Annual Sports Meet of Shri B S Mootha Girls Senior Secondary School came to a triumphant close with the closing ceremony, marking the culmination of a day filled with intense competition and sportsmanship. The winners of the various events were felicitated with gold, silver, and bronze medals by the dignitaries, in recognition of their outstanding achievements and dedication. The closing ceremony included the symbolic handing over of the house flags to the Principal Mrs. Swarnalatha Gopalakrishnan, marking the conclusion of the day’s activities. The countless hours of rigorous training and the tireless efforts invested by the students and teachers will forever be etched in the annals of the school’s history, serving as a testament to their unwavering dedication and unrelenting passion for excellence.
